Trooper Robert McGuire was killed in a head-on collision with a drunk driver who was driving on the wrong side of a divided highway south of Las Vegas while responding to an emergency call at the time the collision occurred.

Trooper McGuire was with the Nevada Highway Patrol for seven years. He is survived by his wife, son, and two daughters.
